Course Outline
Yin Teacher Training Program
From the very beginning, you will be introduced to the essence of Yin Yoga - the stillness, introspection, and surrender that form the foundation of this practice. You will uncover the rich history and philosophy behind Yin Yoga, understanding its profound connection to Chinese Taoist traditions and its complementarity to Yang styles of yoga.
Throughout the training, we will guide you through the essential Yin Yoga poses, modifications, and adjustments tailored to suit all bodies. You will gain a deep understanding of the anatomy and physiology involved in Yin Yoga, exploring the intricate workings of the skeletal system, connective tissue, and fascia.
Sequencing and creating balanced Yin Yoga classes will be a key focus of the training. You will learn how to build safe and effective sequences that cultivate a harmonious balance between effort and ease, while integrating the principles of counter poses and the skillful use of props to support and deepen the poses.
This training also emphasises the transformative power of meditation and mindfulness within Yin Yoga. Let us guide you to explore various meditation techniques and breath practices and teach you how to incorporate the mind-body connection in your classes and foster a sense of inner calm and clarity.
While yin is a practice of deep stillness, we advocate for gentle somatic movement to coax and encourage the body to soften and prepare for longer holds. Expect to learn about the power of gentle, releasing movements to compliment yin.
As a special highlight, you will delve into the fascinating world of chakras and their relevance to Yin Yoga. Discover how specific Yin Yoga sequences can stimulate and balance the energy centres within the body, creating a harmonious flow of energy and promoting emotional and physical well-being.
Join us on this enlightening journey and become a radiant embodiment of Yin Yoga. Our training adheres to trauma informed principals.

Here’s what some of the Class of 2024 had to say:
“ I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the beautiful Yin Yoga Teacher Training I experienced with you and the group in Bali. It was truly transformative, and I am deeply grateful for the guidance and wisdom you both shared with us.” Rebecca Kunz, Yoga Teacher
“The Evolve Yin Training was a transformative journey for me opening up a greater understanding of yin yoga, yoga philosophy, anatomy, meridians, meditation, somatic movement, and associated theory and practices. As a mental health practitioner who loves yoga, I was particularly drawn to this course to learn advanced breath and meditation practices to support my clients. The course exceeded my expectations as Lisa A and Lisa M brought an exceptional standard of teaching stemming from their wealth of experience and very nurturing approach. They have fostered the perfect environment for connection and community with amazing fellow students. Not only have I had an incredible time of personal growth and professional development, but I have also returned from this experience with a nourished soul and friendships made! The venue was also magical with teachings and yoga practice set amongst the smell, sight, and sounds of a rainforest.” Eleanor Lam, psychologist
“A brilliant and delightful experience, thank you so much.” Dr Tatiana Cantachin, psychiatrist
“Both Lisas are the reason why I signed up for this training as i have always felt lacking in the Yin space. I have been attending yoga classes at Seed and always walked out feeling so refreshed and happy. Their ability to create an inclusive and safe environment in their classes gives me lots of inspiration to keep learning. This training was so valuable, adding so much knowledge base and understanding of Yin and given me a great deal of confidence about teaching Yin rather than just Vinyasa and Hatha.” Priscillia Low, Yoga + Pilates Teacher
“In this training, I was able to experience high quality Yin classes lead by Lisa A and Lisa M , learning the teaching concepts that underpin great Yin classes. Being abroad, away from normal life, allowed me to fully dive into the training. In the breaks between lectures, I had time to contemplate the subtle body elements we were learning, which really helped the concepts land. I left with the knowledge to both teach Yin to my community, and enhance my Yang classes” Julia Gray, Yoga Teacher + Studio Owner
“The Lisa’s worked seamlessly as a team. They really held the space well and opened from their hearts consistently. The course was an harmonious melding of their well grounded intellectual and experimental knowledge. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to have learnt from them.“ Rebecca McMenamin, Yoga Teacher
“ I LOVED LOVED LOVED the training course and being able to share the experience with such a wonderful group of people. We have come away from the training course feeling very inspired, refreshed, calm, and feeling better able to face our forthcoming challenges in life. We also hope to be able to apply what we have learned from you in supporting our loved ones and others in need. Both yoga teachers Lisa M and Lisa A were well experienced and their knowledge about Yin yoga was enormous. Thank you so much for sharing your yoga journey!” Yasu Yashoda, Chef and dedocated yogi

Who is this training for?
It’s mostly for yoga teachers who want to learn how to teach soulful yin classes. You do not need to be a yoga teacher to attend this training, but you must have experience with yin yoga and a sincere desire to immerse yourself in all things yin. So if you are a dedicated student or working in healthcare and helping industries where understanding practices to reduce stress and anxiety can be a game-changer, talk to us about whether this training will be suitable for you.
Will I be qualified to teach yin yoga after this training?
If you haven’t yet (or don’t plan to) do a full 200+ hour yoga teacher training, you may still complete this course. However, you are not qualified to teach yoga to adults unless you have completed a minimum 200 hour recognised yoga teacher training qualification.
This training will qualify you as an associate student with Yoga Alliance, which will augment any future 200+ hour yoga trainings you undertake. It will compliment any modality you are already qualified to teach, such as pilates, psychology, body work and medicine, as examples. The skills you learn will support any work with stressed adults and children.
What is Yin Yoga?
Yin Yoga is a complimentary yoga practice to the more dynamic and active yoga styles that have dominated the rise in popularity of yoga in western culture. In a sense, the movement towards yin yoga may be indicative of a desire to bring a more harmonious and holistic balance between the masculine the feminine, the yin and yang, active and passive.
We have seen a huge rise in the popularity of this slow grounded style of yoga. It seems that the faster we move as a society, the more we need to actively cultivate practices that slow us down and tune back us in to the wisdom of the body and the whisperings of the heart.
Yin yoga, especially when combined with mindfulness, calming and slow integrated somatic movement is a subtly powerful modality for resetting frazzled nervous systems, helping improve the quality of our sleep, regulate hormonal imbalances and bring us home to ourselves, to a sense of inner peace.
We know from the work of Bessel Van der Kolk that indeed the body does keep the score. Trauma, grief and old sadness are held in the tissues of the body and the practices that we will teach you allow for sweet release and surrender of what no longer serves us.
Why do this in Bali?
Why not? But seriously…where better that beautiful Bali to immerse in the lusciousness of nature? This retreat-based training offers you a unique opportunity to embody the essence of yin, which is deeply nurturing and involves stepping away from daily life and all of your roles and responsibilities so that you can deeply absorb the learnings, free from distractions of the external world. Expect an experiential training. While you’ll be well educated in theory, more importantly you’ll learn to embody these practices through a richly experiential memorable training. Expect to evolve and to experience deep self enquiry.
Why not online?
While online trainings certainly have their place, this training is unapologetically face-to-face because we want to share these teachings in the way that yoga has always been taught, with direct transmission and experiential learning from teacher to student.
What are the Course Requirement?
If you want to receive the 50 Hr certification, you must participate in the full training. This will include pre-reading before you leave for Bali and post training assessment submission.
What are my passport requirements?
Your passport must have a minimum of six months validity to enter Indonesia.
What is the venue like?
Nestled in plush tropical gardens and surrounded by lovely rice fields, Naya is a beautiful retreat and boutique homestay comprised of two adjacent properties; Naya and Naya's Rainbow.
