Areas of Exploration

Based on the needs of the individual, a bespoke road map is designed that may include but is not limited to career strategy, personal/social/political awareness, constructive styles of self management and managing others, dealing with interpersonal conflict, increasing leadership presence, adult vertical development, increasing emotional intelligence, lifestyle review. While coaching involves becoming aware of unexplored areas of the personality and blind spots, it’s primary focus is on the organizational and business dimensions of how the leader performs their role at work.

Approach

Our approach is Integral / systems based which uses the research of evidence-based psychology, leadership theory, and adult education models. The latest findings in habit formation are also used to help business leaders understand the conditions necessary for sustainable behavioural change. This may involve working with the world view of the individual in terms of their values, beliefs, and culture to help them leverage the positive aspects and uncover those aspects that may be limiting future potential. The coaching also helps the counterpart evolve a new narrative which creates a cohesive framework for future change beyond the coaching intervention. Mindfulness practices as well as other techniques are used when appropriate in helping the individual thrive in high pressure environments.

Evaluation

Key measurements to evaluate the success of the coaching intervention are established at commencement. This may involve the individual’s people leader in conjunction with the HR business partner.

Learning Journey

Phase One establishes learning styles and first horizon goals requiring less effort with high impact. In Phase Two, coach and client develop a closer working relationship to “up the game” in terms of goals and intensity. The Third and final Phase is designed to help the leader establish practices and identify support systems that will help sustain permanent change once the coaching engagement is terminated. A learning journal with a review of actions taken between coaching sessions is encouraged.
