A Four Week Course for Women with Lisa Matthews + Lisa Allwell
Learn how to move mindfully through peri-menopause, menopause and post-menopause with grace and creativity as we explore ways, from the yoga and tantric traditions, to master the physical, emotional and spiritual changes during this transformational life stage.
Join senior yoga teachers and facilitators Lisa Allwell and Lisa Matthews for a 4 week course to empower you, inspire you and shift your internal narrative about menopause. Feel stronger, wiser and fired up to step into this next stage of life.
We’ll discuss and reflect on the importance of being grounded, present, and connected to the body in daily life.
Using practices from yoga, somatics and meditation you will:
Experience nurturing movement practices with a focus on hormonal health, vitality and wellbeing.
Connect with your intuition and internal wisdom
Learn how to use breathing and mindfulness techniques to ease your transition.
Use creative processes to promote positive self and body consciousness.
Experience how guided meditation can ease anxiety and cultivate mindfulness
Connect with others on this path and discover the benefits (yes! So many!) to this chapter of life.
Each week we explore a different means of moving through menopause experientially. You’ll go home each week feeling radiantly alive, with a bonus gift and some tips and tools to support you between sessions.
While these topics sound heavy, our approach is light-hearted:
Week 1 : Somatic movement to connect with the body's natural wisdom and express emotions. You’ll discover the importance of connecting with the body and mind during this transitional phase. Learn how movement can be a powerful tool to help transcend menopause symptoms and connect to the felt sense of what you experience in your body.
Week 2 : Yoga for feminine power: Incorporating yoga practices that focus on cultivating confidence, strength, and embracing feminine power. We’ll also look at gentler yoga poses and sequences that can help alleviate menopause symptoms and promote relaxation and balance.
Week 3: Embracing Sensuality, pleasure . Reclaim your feminine power by reconnecting with and embracing sensual aspects of oneself during menopause. We’ll explore creative movement, breath practices and authentic self-expression.
Week 4: Integration and reflection. Integrating the practices and insights gained throughout the course, reflecting on personal growth, and sharing experiences in a supportive group setting.
Its powerful when women come together and share their wisdom. Speaking our truth helps us feel seen and connected. The overarching theme each week will be cultivating self-compassion as a tool for accepting and embracing the changes that come with all things menopause.
Expect a safe space, laughter, the support of skilled facilitators and connecting with a group of like-minded souls. We’ll use movement, essential oils, conversation, breath practices, relaxation techniques and special surprises in our sessions. You will learn tips and really useful tools and techniques for dealing with some of the common symptoms of menopause including; brain fog, hot flushes, sleep disturbances, anxiety, depression and body image issues.
You’ll be given homework of practices to explore between the sessions so you can try these on for size in your own life and cultivate a tool kit that supports you.
Who is this for?: Women who are peri-menopausal, menopausal or post-menopausal. The journey into menopause and beyond can span many years and in our youthcentric culture, it’s a story that’s not being told. We are passionate about changing that and creating a new narrative.

Lisa has been a dedicated student of yoga for the past 20 years and a yoga teacher for 13 years. Initially introduced to yoga through meditation, philosophy, chanting and seva (selfless service) her practice expanded to incorporate a fluid yet grounded asana practice.
Lisa served as a manager of international ashrams both in Sydney and Ganeshpuri India. Continuing her yoga studies on her return to Australia, she was handed over the reins to a boutique Yoga and Creative Dance School in Warrandyte, The Bhava Centre. Lisa lovingly owned and operated the studio for several years; guiding the direction and progress of many students through weekly classes and supporting the 300 hr Teacher Training program offered at the studio.
Honouring her deep desire to make a difference in the lives of trauma sufferers through the lens of yoga, Lisa travelled to New York to undertake Off The Mat into the World’s Yoga for Purpose, Social Change training with Sean Corne, Hala Khouri and Suzanne Sterling. On her return to Australia, Lisa was invited to join the Board of Directors of a yoga inspired Not For Profit, Yogahood Australia. Together she co-created and delivered a Trauma Informed Teacher Training to upskill volunteers in preparation for teaching in these sensitive and specialised settings.

Lisa is a health professional who unexpectedly fell in love with yoga. She held senior public health roles in mental health, cancer, stroke and chronic illness, but traded up a focus on evidence, research and evaluation to teach yoga. Now, she encourages her students to run the yoga experiment in their own body and mind, with a sample size of one, and richly reap the rewards of their own personal research program.
Lisa established her studio, Seed Yoga + Wellness in 2017. She has created a flourishing yoga community in Blackburn. Far too many of her students to count, have gone on to study and teach yoga. This led to her mentoring emerging yoga teachers one-on-one, giving them the confidence to teach and to establish their own yoga related businesses.
Lisa has completed over 1000 hours of yoga training in a variety of yoga traditions and lineages, including Vitality Yoga, Yoga Pranala, Sattva Yoga Academy and Embodied Flow. She considers herself to be a lifelong student of yoga who continues to participate in trainings; there’s so much to be curious about in this incredible tradition of yoga!
Lisa is a former Board member of Yoga Australia (the national peak body for yoga) and has twice been nominated the Australian Ambassador to the International Yoga Festival in Rishikesh, India. She is a former Board member of Health Issues Centre at La Trobe University. She is a Level 3 Senior Yoga Teacher with Yoga Australia.
